Repentance and Forgiveness

We are all sinners.  Only Jesus was without sin from His time on Earth.  Jesus died on the cross for us, He paid in his blood for our sins so that they could be forgiven, giving us access to the Kingdom of Heaven.  To receive forgiveness, we must repent (repent is from the Greek word metanoia and means a change of mind and heart) of our wrongdoing and ask God for forgiveness, in Jesus' name.  He will forgive us, He loves us, but to obtain His forgiveness we must also forgive others who have wronged us (Matthew 6:15), just like the Lord's Prayer says.  Why should God forgive us if we cannot forgive our fellow man.  It can be extremely hard to do, when people have treated you horribly, but you can ask God to help you with forgiveness and He will.

The Ten Commandments are the basis of what we must do and not do, in our lives, but what what God wants from us goes further and this is why you must read your bible, to understand how you must walk with Jesus and follow His example.  The enemy battles against us every day and every hour and this is why it's hard to live the life Jesus says we should.  Focus on what you can do to help others, don't place your life's focus on material things.  Spread the Word of scripture in any way you can, everyone you bring to salvation is a soul saved from hell.  Never give up, and keep asking for His help.  Pray to God in Jesus' name, that whenever you fall, He will give you strength to carry on and repent of your wrongdoing.

"God not only commands us to confess our sins, but also promises to forgive us in the future and, in a real sense, hinges our forgiveness on whether we forgive others, after we have presumably been justified (Matthew 6:15; Matthew 18:15–351 John 1:9James 5:15)."

God loves us so much that He gave His only son for our sins.  We must make ourselves worthy of His sacrifice.
